Sense & Sensitivity
is an invitation to take a spiritual journey using the five senses as starting points and doorways. Each of the four session lasts about 1¼ hours and is best run in a home or in some other comfortable neutral venue.

This course has been created by Chris & Sheila Chesterton:

  • to respond to the needs of spiritual seekers. There are many of these in our society but they tend to think that the church has little to offer and turn more readily to New Age practices.
  • to help people strengthen their spiritual life. Strengthening the spirit is a biblical concept: 'I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being.' Ephesians 3:16
  • to explore new ways of communicating biblical stories that draw the hearer into the narrative.

The Introduction page has fuller details about the ideas behind the course and how to use it effectively. Please read this at an early stage and refer back to it from time to time.

"It has been one of
those things that has really
lived up to expectations."

Audio Files: there are accompanying audio files containing nearly an hour of music by artists such as David Fitzgerald, Daniel Kolbiaka, Joanne Hogg and Margaret Rizza plus tracks for Session 2: Hearing. Track numbers are given in the text for the particular session. These files can be downloaded after first gaining a password. Visit the Contact page for details.

Video Clips: video clips that demonstrate the story telling can be found on YouTube under the heading Godly Play Foundation.

To make running the course as easy as possible, much of the resources needed (pictures, music, etc.) are included here and in the audio files; other materials are all things which are readily available.
